The 22-year-old wrestler, who lost to Finnish Johnny Sarkkinen in the first round of the first competition of the year - Zagreb Open, explained the reason for his defeat in Croatia: "I lost because of my mistakes. I was in a hurry, I wanted to defeat the opponent fast. But I fell into a counterattack myself. I gave points to the opponent. Mistakes in such tournaments were a good experience. The U-23 European Championship and a number of international competitions await me ahead. We are continuing our training in Croatia. We will prepare better for these tournaments."
He also touched on the competition in the national championship. Hasanli, who beat all his opponents in the Azerbaijan championship at the end of last year, admitted that the competition at 77 kg is low: "There are weight classes and strong competition in the Azerbaijan championship. For example 97 kg. But there are weights that among the wrestlers there, only two or three are good. It's the same in my weight class. I hope it will be fixed next year. Because every year the situation changes. I want to wrestle with Sanan Suleymanov, who is the leader of this weight. I will improve even better when I fight with a strong athlete I can't say anything about whether I can beat him. Sanan is in very good shape at the moment. I'm also working on myself."
