Azərbaijani wrestling team won another silver medal at the World Championship held in Belgrade.
Idman.biz website reports that Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) lost in the final.
He lost to Cuban Luis Sanchez. Having finished the championship in the second place, Hasrat qualified for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Islam Abbasov, who fought in the 87 kg weight category, went to the bronze match. Azerbaijani Semyon Novikova from Bulgaria was defeated. Nevertheless, Islam retains a chance to win a license to the Olympics. He will get this right if he wins the last match.
It should be noted that our Greco-Roman wrestlers won 5 medals at the World Championship. Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg), Rafig Huseynov (82 kg) won gold, Murad Mammadov (63), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg), and Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg) won silver.
