"Training process for the Olympic Games is going well."
Aliabbas Rzazade (57 kg), the freestyle wrestler of the Azerbaijan national team, told Idman.biz.
He assessed his opponents at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Rzazade said that all participants in the competition are strong: "I would especially mention Zalimkhan Abakarov, Ray Higuchi, Arsen Harutyunyan, and Stevan Micic. If I beat them, I can become an Olympic champion. Me and the "four" I mentioned are stronger than the others. Rei Higuchi was in excellent form in the last race as well. Although I beat him with a clear advantage, the judges did not give me 2 points. Then I got injured and left the tournament. I think I can take revenge on him in Paris."
According to Rzazade, his goal in the French capital will be only a gold medal: "Each award in the Olympic Games is valuable. But I am going there just for the gold medal. My level of preparation is also good. We are in the last training camp in Guba. I believe that me and my teammates will perform successfully and raise the flag of Azerbaijan in Paris 2024."
