An international Greco-Roman wrestling tournament was held in Tyumen , Russia.
Idman.biz reports that 6 wrestlers under the leadership of head coach Alexander Tarakanov and coach Kamran Mammadov represented Azerbaijan in the competition organized in honor of world and European champion, Olympic medalist Vladimir Cheboksarov.
Azerbaijan’s 3 wrestlers got on the podium in the traditional tournament in which the teams of Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan participated.
In this competition, Eldeniz Azizli and Ulvi Ganizade (72 kg) who tested themselves in 60 kg reached the finals. However, they were satisfied with the silver medal as they did not participate in the decisive match due to injury. Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) won a bronze medal.
