“There’s little time left before the World Championship.”
Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestler Nihad Guluzade (60 kg) shared these thoughts with Idman.biz as he prepares for the U23 World Championship in Tirana, Albania.
Reflecting on his training, Guluzade mentioned that after a training camp in Guba, the team is in excellent shape: “We are completing the final preparations in Baku. Every camp has been conducted at the highest level, and we’ve rigorously followed all the rules in training.”
Guluzade emphasized that his goal is to win the gold medal: “I believe our hard work will not go to waste. Winning the championship will be tough because there are no weak opponents in my weight category. I’ve analyzed all my competitors. Every wrestler coming to this event is a strong athlete. Since it's an Olympic weight class, there’s no easy opponent. I’ll do everything I can to claim the gold medal.”
The World Championship is scheduled to take place from October 21-27.
