The roster for the upcoming World Championship has been confirmed. The wrestling event will take place in Tirana, Albania, from October 28-31, focusing on non-Olympic weight categories.
Idman.biz reports that 10 wrestlers will represent Azerbaijan at the event.
The competition will kick off with Greco-Roman wrestling. Under the guidance of head coach Aleksandr Tarakanov, senior coach Rovshan Bayramov, and coach Hasan Aliyev, the following athletes will aim for success: Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg), Nihad Mammadli (63 kg), Ulvi Ganizade (72 kg), and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg).
Next, the spotlight will shift to the women’s team. Under the leadership of senior coach Toghrul Asgarov and coach Agahuseyn Mustafayev, Alyona Kolesnik (59 kg) and Elis Manolova (65 kg) will compete.
The championship will conclude with the freestyle wrestlers. Head coach Khetag Gazyumov, senior coach Jabrayil Hasanov, and coach Sharif Sharifov will lead Nuraddin Novruzov (61 kg), Ali Rahimzada (70 kg), Orkhan Abasov (79 kg), and Abubakr Abakarov (92 kg) into the competition.
International referee Sadi Guliyev will officiate at the event.
