The U23 World Wrestling Championship continues in Tirana, Albania, with Azerbaijan's freestyle wrestlers now in the spotlight.

According to Idman.biz, on day five, Azerbaijani athletes competed across five weight categories.

Ruslan Abdullayev defeated Endroi Avdyli from Albania (11:0), Fotis Papadopoulos from Canada (pin), and Mykyta Abramov from Ukraine (3:1) to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal, Ruslan triumphed over India's Abhishek Dhaka with an 11:1 victory, securing a place in the final.

Dzhabrail Gadzhiev won against Germany's Stas Wolf (9:3) but was defeated by Kyrgyzstan's Orozbek Toktomambetov (1:4) in the round of 16. As Toktomambetov advanced to the final, Gadzhiev will have a chance in the repechage rounds, where he will face Turkiye's Ismet Ciftci.

Arsenii Dzhioev defeated Joshua Morodion from Germany (11:0), Cesar Estrada from Guatemala (11:0), and Deepak from India (8:0) to reach the semifinals. There, he edged out Japan's Yudai Takahashi with a score of 2:1, securing his spot in the final.

Abduljalil Shabanov was narrowly defeated in the round of 16 by Greece’s Gkivi Bliatze (9:11).

Aydin Ahmadov overcame China's Jinhai Wang (11:0), Poland's Michal Dubowski (5:4), and Japan's Toyoki Hamada (4:2) to reach the semifinals. In the semifinal match, he lost to Bulgaria's Alen Khubulov (0:10) and will now compete for bronze.

Additionally, Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestlers have already achieved podium finishes, with Rashad Mammadov (55 kg) winning silver and Nihad Guluzada (60 kg) and Khasay Hasanli (77 kg) earning bronze medals.
