Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman wrestler Eldaniz Azizli, fresh from his fourth world title win at the World Wrestling Championships in Tirana, Albania, has set his sights on ending his career with a fifth championship.
In an interview with the United World Wrestling, Azizli reflected on his intense final match against Iran’s Poya Marz, an opponent he’s faced and beaten four times previously. "Given how well we know each other, it was a tough match," he said, adding, "The win was more challenging this time." While he plans to skip next year’s European Championship, Azizli emphasized, “I’ll strive to conclude my career as a five-time world champion.”
In this championship, he clinched victory on point quality (1:1), joining fellow Azerbaijani champions Nihat Mammadli (63 kg) and Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg) in celebrating gold medals for the national team.
