“The tournament went very well. I had three matches and secured confident victories in each one.”
This is what Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman wrestler Murad Ahmadov (97 kg) told Idman.biz.
He commented on his belt-winning performance at an international tournament held in Xi'an, China: “In the first match, I defeated a Korean opponent, then a Mongolian, and finally secured a decisive victory over a Kazakh athlete in the final to win the belt. I’m very happy to have achieved this result and am confident about winning in future competitions.”
Discussing his future plans, the wrestler added that his target at the upcoming Azerbaijan Championship in December is also to take first place: “Preparations for the championship have begun. We are also conducting a training camp in China, which I believe will be very beneficial.”
Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman wrestling team was represented by three athletes at the “The Belt and Road” tournament.
