"The journey went well for me because I didn't lose a medal."
Sarkhan Mammadov (130 kg), who won a bronze medal at the U-23 World Championship in Tirana, the capital of Albania, told Idman.biz.
The athlete, who lost to Ukrainian Mykhailo Vyshinyvetsky in the semi-finals, could not qualify for the finals. He said that he was very upset because he lost in this match: "Our training camps went well. It could have been an even better achievement. In the semi-final match, I lost because of a lack of self-confidence or a technical problem, the score ended 1:1. I will try to get even better results from now on. I want to become European and World Champion among adults."
It should be noted that Sarkhan Mammadov won against Apostolos Tsivolas (Greece) in the fight for the 3rd place.
